International New Year's Church Service

The annual International New Year’s Church Service was held in the Vom Stein Saal in the HQ in Münster on Wednesday 11 January. 

Religious leaders from Germany (Ulrich Höltershinken), France (Patrick Gebel) and the Netherlands (both Wilco van Wakeren and Kees Smit) had invited Corps members to attend the service, the theme of which was ‘Unity’. 

Senior Chaplain Wilco van Wakeren and his colleagues emphasized the importance of body language and understanding each other. Not just within the Corps (which is translated with ‘body’ in French), but also in the countries we come from and the world we live in.
 

After blessings in German, French and Dutch, there was time for an informal chat whilst enjoying the traditional German Kaffee und Kuchen. Unfortunately, the Spanish Padre Serrano Palacios could not attend this year’s service due to personal circumstances.
